Plague of Hats is currently working on the baking rules. He's invested a great deal of effort into it, to the point where the 3e launch has been pushed back in order to get the baking system working just right. True story!

So having spent today thinking about the preview while at work, I have decided I still really like it. Awesome job all around Dev's. Just ignore the assholes.
Let's please not call people who disagree with preview material "assholes."

While I can't speak for the devs, I'm pretty sure that the 'phantoms' mentioned in Black Rose Blooming aren't actually ghosts. This is because A) we generally don't use the word 'phantom' to mean 'ghost' unless we've mentioned a specific ghost like ten times in the same paragraph and have run out of synonyms, and B) we generally don't use the word 'coalesce' to describe the appearance of an actual creature, even a relatively insubstantial creature like a ghost.

I am confident that John and/or Holden will address the matter when they return from Denny's their undisclosed location.

ravish (third-person singular simple present ravishes, present participle ravishing, simple past and past participle ravished)

1. (obsolete or archaic) To seize and carry away by violence; to snatch by force.
2. (transitive, usually passive) To transport with joy or delight; to delight to ecstasy.
3. (transitive, now rare) To rape.

They want to make sure that the new Exalt types (not to mention Lunars and Infernals and the classics) are fully integrated into the setting and history and map, so that none of them feel tacked on and inconsequential.
When did Lunars get removed from the category of "classics"? emotion-1.gif

Seriously? A kid who grows up in a mercenary camp will acquire all sorts of non-combat skills. Sent out as a runner? Athletics. Kitchen duty? Craft. Wheedling for seconds? Performance, Presence. Cadging extra food more directly? Investigation, Larceny. Constant ribbing from the grunts? Integrity, Socialize. Sentry duty? Awareness, Stealth. Helping the medic, the quartermaster, the grooms? Medicine, Bureaucracy, Ride.

I assume you meant "pastry golems." A pasty golem would be something else entirely.

To clarify for other posters, the character in question is Bal Keraz, the Realm's Minister of the Treasury.

Now this here, I think this could be worth being my hill to die on.
I don't think you have anything to worry about on that score.
