I've been trying to really visualize the North and was wondering, what real life biome or geographic region would the Near North be the most similar to. Seems like it would be Taiga, but from the map doesn't seem to be all that forested. The Far North is labeled as a Tundra, but I'm sure at least part of that is more similar to Antarctica. I'd just like to have a better handle on it for my descriptions of the land.
A variety of highland, continental, and boreal climates, ranging to polar in high-altitude inland areas.
