Will Lunars have clear ways to keep the spirit shape of central importance?

Perhaps this can answer some of folks' questions:

I have avoided anything that might make your choice of spirit shape a point of character optimization as a very conscious decision. Yes, it unlocks new possibilities through the Totemic keyword, but those are still Charms you could've gotten the normal way; it just opens up alternative paths. I don't want people to be discouraged from picking "suboptimal" spirit shapes that fit their character concepts, and I especially don't want to see the same small selection of animals getting used over and over.

I may have missed something, but it sounded like only partial shapeshifting/bodily feature Charms were getting the totemic tag. So a Lunar Batman would have an alternate path for getting patagia and sonar, but not being The Night.
This is not the case. For example, a lot of warfare Charms, none of which are in physical Attributes, have Totemic access by way of various physical Attributes for Lunars whose spirit shapes are pack hunters.

Out of curiosity, what if the beast normally hunts in packs but the parameters of the totem lead to a totemic expression like a "lone wolf" archetype?
To minimize ambiguity and confusion, all Totemic criteria are strictly objective things. An animal is either part of a species that hunts in packs, or it isn't. An animal is either poisonous/venomous, or it isn't. There's nothing like "animals associated with death" or "animals that look cute." If a particular route of Totemic access doesn't fit the cultural symbolism your character attributes to their spirit shape, they can simply not take those Charms, or just learn them as Charms of the Attribute they belong to normally.
